That's my first time writing anything like that) I made it just like i was told to, so dont blame for all those details about school and so on. I'm not so extraordinary, and we dont have a lot of opportunities to open up in my native city, so.. that's it) I do hope, that you guys would be so kind to check it and tell me what to change. Dear Sir or Madam:

I am 18-years old Russian student, and the purpose of writing this letter is to request that you consider my application for Bachelor of Art in International Communications Studies course.

Please allow me to briefly introduce myself. Most of my life I was being raised up only by mother. Having such an authoritative role-model, I always tried to be as strong and independent as she.

From the early age I showed myself as an active and curious child, constantly taking leadership of a group and being the center of a company. Due to the tendency to express my personal beliefs, I sometimes came into collision with a majority opinion. Proving my point of view, overcoming misunderstandings among the mates I moulded myself into a strong, morally stable, sociable and quite confident person.
Being highly motivated by my family, I have always striven to be the best student. Thus my academic performance has always been one of the best in class. I participate in class and school activities. I find it interesting to do a research work. Several times I have taken part in school and municipal research conferences. In 2008 I was awarded the title of laureate of Russia's distance competition "Knowledge and Creativity" for my work in the section "World of English Language" and for the work in section “Economic Geography”.In 2009 I won the first place in the scientific-practical conference of students “Start in science” in section “Geography of the Amur Region" for the mini-research "Video-ecology. How visual environment of the city effects man". This year is not the exception – in March at the conference of school scientific society "Logos" I’m going to present my research in Physics on the given topic “Consumption of electricity”. In addition to my academic activities, I also give time to extracurricular pastime. I take part in many social activities, working in a group together with many people from different backgrounds. Therefore, I can adapt to new situations and make friends easily. Several years ago I attended a drama school, as well as having musical classes for some period of time.
I have been studying English for 11 years. Since 2007, I studied English in a branch of the training group ***. Therefore, I always had a strong wish to use my knowledge in the future career. Several years ago I started to think closely on what I should connect my education with. All advices and my own ideas about this topic were limited to the fact that I can succeed in a field where communicability, interpersonal skills and creativity are necessary. Taking in account my abilities I started searching for the possible careers. That is how I became interested in Public Relations, Advertising and Marketing.
My teacher in *** is Irina V. She has helped me in many ways, and it was her, who first told me about The University of ***. Later, it revealed that International Communications studies, available in the ***, give everything required for improving my prospects for success. I believe that *** is certainly a suitable option for me. I have got several important reasons. The first is the international orientation of the University. I am extremely interested in the opportunity of experiencing an international education as well as in communicating with both Chinese and International students. There I could meet different people, absorb various points of view, which could be both valuable and enriching. This will surely improve my ability in interacting with other people from different cultures and nationalities.
The second reason is the location of the University. Due to the fact that 'city A' is situated on the border with China, and to the fact that I have many times been to China, I already know a lot about the culture and traditions of this country. I love and respect its people and certainly would like to know more about it. Moreover, one cannot deny the fact that China is a country with a stable economy, which has a huge potential for development. I think this country a great place to study.
In order to go to The University of ***, I devoted myself to the careful preparation for the IELTS examination. During the summer of 2008 and 2009 I studied at the ***. In 2009, I passed the IELTS with the score of 7.0. In addition, I have been studying Chinese language since 2008 and I intend to continue studying it in China.
My career goals are to fulfill my potential, develop and make the full use of my personal characteristics. I believe that my desire to communicate with people, persistence in achieving goals, commitment and sense of responsibility for assigned work, interest in overcoming the difficulties, as well as my backgrounds will meet your high requirements.
Finally I can say that I look forward to join this Bachelor Degree program in International Communications studies in order to prove my abilities and gain new skills.
