Due to previous experiences of working with a range of people in the health care sector, I believe that throughout my time on different work placements with people suffering from various diseases, people who have disabilities and mental disorders, along with the experiences gained through my studies in medical university, my desire to pursue a career in the care profession has to grow. My decision to pursue a Master's degree in this discipline result from a deeply feeling desire to make a positive difference in the lives of children. Throughout, this course I will be able to gain valuable experiences of working with special needs children and it gives me a chance to understand them more and help them to deal with psychological problems caused by disorders that they have. I strongly believe that this program is a fantastic way to give me the knowledge in issues the health, intellectually development and socially integrate adult. Also, I have a great desire attend the lectures of Professor Mats Granlund. I read some of his publications and noticed that my views are very close to his. It will be a great honour for me, to meet him personally. Moreover, Sweden is a leader in protection the rights of people with disabilities and Swedish Government's approach is a good example for other countries. Child psychology is a strong interest of mine; ?bserving at the life of my cousin, suffering from cerebral palsy, I always ask myself how can I find ways to improve her life. As I am not just her close relative , I am the clinical psychologist too , it was in my competence to compose a suited course of psychotherapy for her. I was based on the theory of Berne and transactional analysis. Now she is 14 and in spite of problems with her locomotor system , she has a fulfilled life. She attends the school, goes out with her friends and enjoys every new day. In recent years, I have acquired many transferable skills for Psychology. For example, my significant practical experience of working with children as a volunteer in Summer Camp for children of the ATO soldiers. This allowed me to both observe and interact with the children allowing me to monitor their relationships with one another and how they adapted into accepting me as part of their community. In connection with the armed conflict in eastern Ukraine, all people are in a stressful condition now, particularly this aggressive situation affects children's vulnerable mind. Posttraumatic stress disorder - it is the plague of the Ukrainian society, and I had the occasion to meet it in this camp. ?hildren with this syndrome requires special treatment and psychological support, as well as children with disabilities. Unfortunately, there are not enough appropriate organisations and qualified experts on the protection of and assistance to such children in Ukraine. For two years of my study at the University ,I had to work the pharmacist. My mother is a single woman with two children, so I felt my duty to help her financially. However, this work has given me not only financial support, also I have got a valuable experience of working with people. During this time I developed effective my communication skills and good working relationships. In addition to this, it is also helping me to show how committed I am to my responsibilities as well as demonstrating good organisation skills. Having to juggle work and university as well as social activities this also shows that I am developing my time keeping skills to make myself more committed and punctual. My future dream is to open the rehabilitation centre for children with special needs. I also want to create awareness in the society and work with families, to give them knowledge about the importance of special education. This degree will allow me to gain the skills and experience I need to work with children. I look forward to going to university because this will allow me to pursue the career in life that I think I will find the most fulfilling. It is hugely important to enjoy what you do as work is such a big part of your life.
