Please check my Motivation Letter

I just make my motivation letter for applying university scholarship in Italy. The university doesn't give any clue about the content of the motivation letter therefore i need anyone to check my motivation letter. My background is senior auditor in Deloitte for 3 years.

Dear Sir/Madam:

Firstly I should say my big appreciation for the opening of XXX scholarship. Without this scholarship it is impossible for me to study in Italy.

I graduated in economics in March 2008 from the XXXX, Indonesia, Faculty of Economics. I got full scholarship from XXXX Foundation during my study there. My degree focuses on accountancy. I also took several courses in economics and business. Through my studies, I am successful to become senior auditor and interested with the study of convergence around International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS/IAS) that will impact Indonesian Financial Accounting Standards.

Indonesian Financial Accounting Standards will adopt International Financial Reporting Standard (IFRS/IAS) by 2012; the intention is to ensure that the audit report is transparent to the users and comparable with audit report from other countries which already adopted IFRS such as Europe (since 2005 onwards). Result of the adopting, Indonesia Financial Accounting Standard will adopt international accounting standard (IAS) such as for IAS 1 Presentation of Financial Statement etc. As an auditor, adoption of IFRS requires auditor to have an understanding of the conceptual framework of international accounting as well considerable knowledge of business transactions and fundamental economic enterprise before making a judgment. In addition to technical expertise, auditor also need to understand the ethical and legal implications in the implementation of standards in order to obtain better assurance and accountability before making an audit opinion.

To accomplish that goal, however, I must deepen my knowledge of the field. Since the adoption of IFRS in Indonesia begin in 2012, it makes me less familiar with IFRS therefore I am applying Master of International Business and Economics which has core subject in international accounting. By applying the courses, I believe I will gain deepen knowledge about technical application and conceptual framework of International Accounting Standards (IAS) and IFRS. Besides that, I really excited that the courses combined with the area of economics, finance and business strategy in international frameworks. Before making an audit opinion, that knowledge’s really helps me to obtain better understanding in analyzing fundamental economic and business transaction of my auditee, especially for multinational company and as a result, it will increase the accountability and transparency of audit report. Therefore I believe that the courses will increase my professional skill and knowledge which is needed in international working environment. However, someday I really like to conduct a research on the impact of adopting IFRS on the auditing profession.

To show my interest on the course, I have made necessary contact with Ms. XXXX, Department of Business Management, and I already admitted in Master of International Business and Economics. I have attached the corresponding email.

Finally I am determined to do my best through the scholarship benefit and I believe by applying Master of International Business and Economics, I will have solid foundation in the academic theory and practice in the area of international accounting that will contribute specially to my career profession and my country in general.
