Please check my letter to noise neighbour, is it polite and gramma correct ?

Dear Sirs/Madams,

I am writing to you about a problem about heavy stomping and sound of moving furniture from your flat particularly at early morning 6:00 AM.

I am retired and have poor health and taking medication from my Psychiatrist, and he advised me needed to make more rest at a similar silent environment.

Because of this I am usually home during the day and need to rest for a time each day, usually between 9 pm and 6:30 am and a nap from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm.

I appreciate your right to use your home and not trying to interrupt your works and privacy.

But I will sincerely appreciate if you can reduce the noise at the above mentioned time, it will significantly help my already poor health and maintain a good neighbourhood environment.

If there is anything else that you could try that would be very helpful. Please contact me if you would like to discuss this letter or my requests.

Regards,

Calvin

Calvin, I suspect the early morning noise has to do with putting away cots or moving around furniture that was used for sleeping. In other words, your upstair neighbors may be dealing with their own bad situation. Nevertheless, your letter, as originally written and as revised, is extremely polite and non-confrontational.

  • It should be received well by any decent-mended person.
  • Good luck.
