My Essay:
Over the last few years, many societies have seen unprecedented increase in the number of anti-social people who break the law. In this essay I will explain why unemployment and not giving severe penalties for some crimes are two major reasons of why some people tend to do criminal activities. The possible solutions will also be elaborated which how government can tackle this problem.
Throughout history people have tried to explain what causes abnormal social behavior. To begin with, unemployment is one of the salient reasons which tends to propel people into crimes to enable them to survive economically. For instance, it can be seen in history, during the recession time in some countries when many people became jobless the rate of crime increased appreciably. To solve this problem, government authority must invest more money to create more jobs. As a result more people will be occupied and earn money, and in this way less people will commit a crime for money.
Regarding to punishments, some criminals commit crime due to there are not severe penalties for some crimes such as shoplifting, speeding, and burglary which this issue may cause most first-time offenders commiting crimes again. Government can solve this problem by enforcing strict regulations for every illegal activities in society which can reduce criminal behaviors. To illustrates this solution, if the statement of shoplifting was 2 years of imprisonment, this could prevent doing such a anti-social activity owing to heavy penalty.
In conclusion, although the factors contributing to anit-social acts are various, In my view it is the government’s responsibility to address this issue. they should begin by considering some of the solutions proposed above.
