People think it is more important for government to spend public money on promoting a healthy lifestyle in order to prevent illness than spend on the treatment of people who are already ill. To what do you agree or disagree?

It is true that some people contend that more public expenditure on measures to prevent illness by promoting a healthy lifestyle. While I agree with this idea, I strongly believe that spending money on the treatment of people who are already suffering illness is better.

On the one hand, the promotion of a healthy lifestyle to prevent of illness has benefits in some ways. First, sedentary lifestyle is becoming more popular in recent days. People are so caught up with their work that they forget to exercise. As a result, they are prone to be obesity or heart diseases. Second, healthy campaign which is held by government usually provide more information as well as knowledge about how to ensure and improve your health. A balanced diet with a suitable workout routine are the best way to keep fit and avoid suffering illness.

On the other hand, I completely contend that allocating resources on treatment is a higher priority measure. First, with changeable environment and unhealthy lifestyle, more and more different viruses are appeared to adapt new conditions. Therefore, government must have an action timely to prevent life-threatening diseases. Last but not least, hospitals play a crucial part in providing treatments. It means government should support hospitals with modern facilities or subsidization to help citizens meet better treatments, especially for needy people.

In conclusion, although spending public money on raising a healthy lifestyle to avoid illness is essential, I am in favor of with the idea is that expenditure on the treatment.
