Topic: The use of social media is replacing face-to-face interaction among many people in society. Do you think the advantages outweigh the disadvantages?

In contemporary society, access to social networking sites has been increasingly prevalent to keep in touch and socialize with others, this makes face-to-face communication has become uncommon in the modern world. In my opinion, there are both plus points and minus ones brought by such a trend, with its drawbacks are more significant.

On the upside, it is generally believed that the following positives are fairly common. First, the improvement in social media allows users can be able to have access to useful information in order to broaden their knowledge. In fact, many argue that the development of social networks can support them to pursue their studies, which leads to having a golden opportunity to land a decent job or even moving up the career ladder with degrees in higher education via E-learning courses. Second, the Internet is regarded as an effective tool to keep in touch with family members. If students attend university in some big cities, they can hardly face-to-face communication with their parents. Therefore, thanks to the support of advances in social media can be an effective solution for this.

Turning to the downside, drawbacks as follows the possibility that using state-the-art gadgets connected with the Internet can exert a negative effect on communication skills. Indeed, many young people with over-dependence on social media can be detrimental to speaking and writing capacities. Because those using social networks through apps such as Facebook or Zalo have a tendency to grammatical errors and not sufficient words in texting. Furthermore, the lack of face-to-face interactions in the family is a major problem. In particular, in an extended family in modern society, parents lack proper care and attention. They stay together but hold their smartphone to communicate with online friends on FaceBook, which can be likely to lead to an unhappy family and their children can follow a path towards criminal behaviors.

In conclusion, after weighing the pros and cons. I would say that the hazards of direct communication replaced by online interactions have more prominent than the possible benefits
