Subject: As well as making money, businesses also have social responsibilities. Do you agree or disagree?

There are these oppositional attitudes that beside making money, enterprises also have public responsibilities. While I accept generating profit is the top priority of business that suit many people, I believe that others should also organize their business in a socially responsible manner.

On the one hand, the effort of companies to maximize the profit may have a benefit for community as a whole. Firstly, the higher the profit earned by enterprises, they pay more taxes for governments. As a result, Governments can use these taxes to spend on education, health care, which can lead to an improvement in the quality of life. Secondly, companies has an opportunity to be grown the business. For example, firms can use the revenue to expand their manufacture, creating the new job within the community.

On the other hand, the social responsibilities play an integral part in enterprises. The first reason is that their activities have an adverse impact on the environment. Without control, the production process may result in the serious environmental degradation such as Global warming from factory emission or irresponsible disposal of waste. Furthermore, companies should put money back into the community through charity and financing scholarships. For example, Unilever and vinamilk have enhanced their public image through philanthropic actions as giving charitable donations.

In conclusion, it is true that making money is the fundamental principle in companies, but this by no means they haven’t the social responsibilities
