In the past children were taught how to save money, but today they only learn how to spend it.

It is said that saving money had been become a good habit among children in the past. In contrast, these days, children do not tend to this habit. There are several arguments associated with this issue. Some of them are as follows:
Some people believe that because the majority of families had several children in the past, providing adequate financial support for all children was not affordable for some parents. As a result, they always tried to teach their child to save money. Because, by learning this habit, children had become able to understand value of money. In addition, due to some children had to work at an early age in the past. So, saving money had helped them to buy their needs which could not be provided by their parents.
On the other hand, nowadays, both men and women are working to earn money for their family which usually includes one or two children. Therefore, the parents are able to provide good financial support for their child and it seems that saving money is not very essential in this case. Furthermore, today, parents place much more emphasis on their child’s education. Thus, they prefer to give their child enough money to spend for their needs. They think that it helps them to concentrate on their studying without any worry about financial issues.
In conclusion, I personally tend to agree with both views. In my opinion, like the past, these days, there are many parents who always encourage their child to save money for the future.
