The diagram illustrates the process of building a snow igloo.

Overall, the snow igloo is built in a catenary curve, a shape closely resembling a paraboloid; there are eight stages involved in that process, beginning with sawing hard packed snow and ending with perforating some air holes on the interior wall of the igloo.

In order to build a snow igloo, the first step is to saw conpressed now into chunks like building blocks, and there are two sizes for them: small and large. Next, the large blocks are stacked around a circular terraced hole - four metres in diameter - in the snowy ground. A space is left open to make way for the entrance. Once two layers of large blocks are stacked, small ones are used for the construction of the rest of the igloo.

The snow igloo is two metres high, and its exterior is covered with loose snow. Then the entrance is built, which is followed by the perforation of air holes on the inside wall for ventilation. That also culminates the igloo-making process.
