Mobile ad hoc networks are important for remote communication. It is an infrastructure-less network. The nodes must be cooperative, friendly and willing to relay data. The nature of MANET makes it vulnerable to malicious attacks. Differences between MANET and wired networks are such that wired traditional IDS techniques are not easily applicable to MANET. In our proposed solution, we use two head nodes with an IDS agent in a cluster to provide better security.
