APPLICATION FOR INTERNATIONAL MASTER DEGREE PROGRAM

I am applying to your Master Program of “Master of Science in Chemical Engineering” with specializations in Oil and Gas processing starting in October, 2012. One of my career aspirations is to participate in the Senior Management of any Oil and Gas Industries proffering solutions /research along with other engineer managers in solving the immense problems related to gas flaring/ oil spillage/production processes which occur during Gas/Petroleum Production and operations in the region. For instance this is evident in Oil Rich Eastern Region of Nigeria where I was born, mostly visible in Niger Delta area with more reference to http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Environmental_issues_in_the_Niger_Delta

In secondary school, I graduated with science subjects (like Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Agricultural Science etc.) as my majors. These had enabled me to undertake a study in Polymer and Textile Engineering Technology at Federal University of Technology Owerri, Imo State, Nigeria. I graduated with Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) in Polymer and Textile Engineering Technology Second Class Honours Lower Division (22) in the department of Polymer and Textile Engineering.

To further my career ambitions of becoming part of a Senior Management team specialize in Chemical Engineering, I want to obtain a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering. Having this knowledge will allow me to better understand engineering management principles with all the uncertainty and changes in worlds political, economic and technological, I believe that Chemical Engineer Manager must have a solid understanding, supported by a strong academic foundation of how to guide companies through these challenging times.

No education is complete without experience. Armed with a solid understanding of academic principles, I can begin my career where I will add to my experience as stated in my curriculum vitae (CV) attach with this application. Because I will be well versed in the theory as well as practical, I will be able to adapt and modify the theoretical constructs as required in order to meet my company’s needs. I fully recognize that our political, economic, and technological environments are constantly changing and thus Chemical Engineers need to be able to adapt quickly and accurately to the new conditions if the company is to survive, let alone prosper. I believe obtaining a Master’s degree will provide the necessary background for me to be to anticipate and react to ever-changing environments.
