There has been so much debate on the topic of competition among universities. Truly, this issue has become a long-running battle in society. This is say would like to look into the causes and point out the reasons why it is a positive development.
It is reported that there are a few hazards involved with the universities' competition. Essentially, the fundamental reason is probably because of the drastic increase in the demand for higher education of society. The main basis is probably because nowadays, the education levels have strongly developed all over the world. As a result, people need more schools and universities to meet their demands. Another major cause has to be the fact that as joining the competition the universities may have more reputation. The key explanation for this is probably because that if they participated in the battle to raise their image, they will be able to pull the ranking in the region or nation.
After examining the causes carefully, the merits of the competition between the universities will be highlighted as follow.
There are several obvious advantages. The most visible would be the development in the facility and study programs. This is undoubtedly beneficial because the universities compete for the first place, they have to develop and improve themselves, for example, providing modern facilities or advanced study programs, which definitely is a bonus to outweigh other components. At the same point, a second bonus might be financial support policy for students. This is surely a positive feature because that to be able to attract more gifted students and applicants for school in all finance segment, universities will provide scholarship or student loans for pupils who are unable to afford the tuition fee, which is an effective way to raise their image.
With the above-mentioned things, the competition for university education is increasing rampantly because of the society's education demand and the schools' reputation searching plus I am convinced that this competition is positive.
