  • Topic: In some developing countries, air pollution is worse than ever. What are the problems caused by air pollution? What are the solutions?

Nowadays, in some developing countries, air pollution is getting worse and worse. As far as I am concerned, this can cause many problems which can be solved by some solutions.

First, air pollution can lead to serious health issues. Toxic chemicals in the air cause acute respiratory, lung cancer, asthma, etc to people. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), air pollution is one of the biggest environmental threats to human health, causing 7 million deaths each year.

Second, air contamination negatively affects the climate. Air pollution creates greenhouse gases which leads to global warming. So that there are more extreme weather events. For example, the glaciers in the Himalayas that supply fresh water to the Ganges, the source of drinking and farming water for some 500 million people, are shrinking by about 37 meters each year. The red fox is another example, which used to live in North America, but has now moved to the Arctic.

In truth, some imperative measures ought to be taken to solve these issues. Raising the public's awareness of air pollution is highly recommended. Each year, there are many competitions and propaganda sessions held to increase awareness about decreasing air pollution. For example, my school has organized a month to say no to single-use plastics for a dynamic and green Vietnam.

In addition, every individual should lead a green lifestyle to reduce air contaminants. For example, you usually went to school by motorbike in the past but now you can go to school by bus or other public transports to reduce gases or you can also plant more trees to clean the air.

As I have noted, air pollution causes a lot of effects like serious health issues and the climate. So there have to be more strong solutions to increase it.
