THE TOPIC: Some people believe that government money should be spent on
important things rather than arts such as painting and music. To what extent
do you agree or disagree?

MY ESSAY:

It is argued that government should focus their spending on vital fields such as education and economics rather than arts. In my opinion, even though arts is not one of the top priorities, I completely disagree with this point of view.

In terms of economics, too much funding for arts is unnecessary and wasteful. Spending on arts such as painting and music leads to reducing investment in other important fields. For example, to celebrate a big concert, which is received much attention by residents will need a large amount of money for decorating and inviting celebrities. Meanwhile, there is an increase in the number of people, who get threatening diseases because of environmental problems need help. If government allocates effectively their budget for community health centers or the education system, this will create an improvement in the quality of life of the whole community.

However, arts still play an essential role in entertaining people of all ages as well as bonding them together. For instance, music is not only a part of the history of humans, but it also brings a lot of benefits for us until now. After a long tiring school day, music can refresh student’s minds and energize them to get ready for a new day. Arts is the way for individuals or public organizations to do philanthropic actions. Some paintings and pictures in competitions are bought at high prices and the money received will be donated to orphans to take care of and educate unlucky children.

In conclusion, I think that government subsidies still need to be provided for arts such an important sector because of its merits in terms of culture and economics.
