My essay:
Nowadays, we are living in the society, which has revolved around technologies, and people use them massively day by day. One of these common technologies is video game. The majority of children have access to different types of these games, particularly in developed countries, and spend a lot of time to play them. Although, these games have some benefits for children, their drawbacks would make health issues.
Playing video games has several clear advantages for children. One of the most important benefits of it is that it plays a key role in practicing and improving visual skills. When children play these games, they learn how to find solutions and behave in difficult situations. What is more, these activities make children to be more creative. Children may think about the game’s story and ask many questions. Also, they may make and tell stories about games to their friends at school.
Of course, these do not mean that playing computer games are without disadvantages. One main reason is that some researchers have shown that there is direct link between playing video games and some health issues in children. If they seat a long time in front of a monitor to play, they would become obese, which it makes other issues for their health.
They also have claimed some of these games make addiction in children, and so, children do not pay attention to their homework. As a result of this, they would underperform at school and their grade decline dramatically, and then, they lose their self-esteem.
All in all, it is clear that playing video games have some merits, like improving some skills. However, if these plays do not moderate correctly, they would have serious problems for children’s health.
