Schools are no longer necessary because children can get so much information available through the internet and they can study just as well at home. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Digital revolution affects aspects of our lives, including education. While it is true that students can get a great deal of information on the Internet, I disagree with statement that schools should be superseded by home-based virtual learning.

On the one hand, the Internet is a useful teaching tool for children’s self-study. Firstly, a vast amount of educational resources which contain a wide range of fields and subjects on the Internet are now easily accessible by technological devices such as smart phones or laptops . Secondly, this method helps students become independent learners as well as sharpen their problems solving and time management skills,are necessary to help them pursue a successful career in the future.

By contrast, there are some reasons why schools still play a vital role in educating children. The first reason is that transmission of knowledge is more advantageous than face-to-face learning. For instance, students have to concentrate in lessons and finish their homework before going to school because of the strict regulations imposed by teachers, which helps Secondly, students have opportunities to study under supervision and are given individual feedback and guidance from teachers. In this way, students are motivated and less likely to fall behind with their studies. More importantly, schools are the best places for children to sharpen practical skills such as cooperation or teamwork skills, which cannot be acquired by remote learning. Through a wide range of extra-curricular activities such as music, sports or camping, they will be more confident and avoid social isolation.

In conclusion, I will restate my view again that although there are some benefits from remote education, schools are still the best environment for learning.
