There is no doubt that music plays an important role in our life and socialization of youths. Modern music is almost everywhere and it is easily available. Researches have shown that these songs can influence us a lot. Although, it is very fun and exciting, it may concern some parents.
Some researchers have suggested the modern music can increase aggressive behavior and thought, and may encourage crime. Some music, such as Gangster Rap and heavy Metal, are open content. The language of these songs is very vulgar and full of slangs. Sometimes, their content is about committing crimes, sex and breaking the norms and say women are only good for sex. If a young person listens to such music every day, the bad content repeats more and more and so, it would spoil the person’s thought. In addition, many families are against such music. Therefore, their children listen to these songs hidden and hence, they stay away from their family and become isolated.
Nevertheless, it is clear that the modern music can be useful in several possibilities. Some of them, particularly in East, reflects the culture of societies. A young in West can easily watch a clip of an eastern modern music and learn a bit about eastern culture. So, such songs and clips can diminish boundaries between different people in various levels of lives all over the world.
Also, these fun and energetic songs can be useful to develop friendships. Youths who play modern music or interested in these songs, can share their experiences with each other and this can be a good way to strike up a friendship.
In conclusion, modern music has both positive and negative impacts on youths. So, they should be aware of what they listen.
