Everyone should stay at school until 18. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

It is argued that youngsters should follow the academic path until 18. While I accept that young people can acquire many benefits from carrying out studying at school, I believe that this should not apply to all students.
On the one hand, there are many reasons why students should finish compulsory education. First, students would receive a certificate after high school graduation, which plays a fundamental role in seeking out a high-paid job, especially for those who are inclined to enter the workforce without going on the tertiary education. This is because such qualifications is the preliminary in any employment, either manual or intellectual. Second, it is widely believed that this significantly affects country’s development because employers nowadays tend to require high skilled professions. Without the contribution of compulsory education, there would be a lack of competent workers, hence deteriorating economy of the country.
On the other hand, I believe that it is unreasonable to make school compulsory until 18. Not all families can afford to let their children go to school. In underprivileged families, it is comprehensible when young people leave school early to make ends meet to contribute to the family income. Additionally, vocational courses would be a more appropriate choice for these students and those who fall behind with their studies or disrupt lessons. They still can have the chance to apply for a stable job, because manual labor is less competitive compared with the intellectual one.
In conclusion, although I recognize that we should keep studying at school until 18 due to its benefits, I would argue that this is irrational for non-academic students as well as those from poverty backgrounds.
Thanks Sir.
