topic: Environmental protection is the responsibility of politicians, not individuals as individuals can do too little. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

The notion that so little things individuals can do to protect the environment that the government should be responsible for this issue has gained a lot of traction. While only politicians have the ability to solve urgent problems related to the environment, I maintain that human’s attitude plays an important role in mitigating tremendous effects on the natural world in the long run.

First and foremost, politicians can take appropriate measures aimed at fighting environment pollution .In other words, being those in authority, politicians will enact some laws forcing humans to stop devastating the natural resource. This can be easily seen in industrial companies, for example. Should the government have appropriate penalties and coercive measures in those enterprises, they will have to stop discharging toxic chemical waste or noxious fumes into the environment. Such resolute actions of governments, as a result, reverse urgent issues related to the environment and prevent serious environmental degradation.

However, it is difficult to have long-term effects in mitigating environmental problems without the contribution of humans. Simply put, unless individuals are aware of their sense of responsibility, they will continue weakening havoc on the environment indiscriminately. Due to the immediate benefits, they are willing to deteriorate the environment without being conscious of catastrophic effects in the long run. Thus, there is a need to take measures to raise people’s awareness about protecting the environment. Nowaday, some companies have launched green movements to raise human sense of responsibility toward the environment by encouraging them to recycle or use public transport and have monetary rewards for the best individual each month. This movement has attracted attention from hundreds of people worldwide.

In conclusion, politicians have appropriate measures to handle urgent issues on the environment, it is more likely that only human-being can eradicate serious effects on it. I am also convinced that should individuals be comprehensively aware of their sense of responsibility, our earth will become more liveable in the future.
