Topic : In many countries where capital punishment has been abolished there has been a corresponding rise in violence crime rates. For this reason, many governments are considering its re-introduction as a form of deterrent. Should capital punishment be re-introduced?==
Since eliminating capital punishment in many countries, occurrences of violence crimes are increased. Therefore, numerous governments intend to reuse capital punishment in order to diminishing of the crimes, Indeed, there are several arguments for and against this idea.
Some people are of the opinion that capital punishment informs villains and criminal persons about consequence of committing the crime. Thus, it would act as a deterrent. For example, in certain countries, death penalties, such as hanging is executed in public places which makes fear among villains. The supporters of capital punishment believe that if those persons who are found guilty of murder do not face the death penalty, they will be released from prison and they might commit again another murder or crime in the future. Another reason they put forward is that capital punishment could relieve families and other persons who are suffered by the crime. For instance, in most cases, the majority of families that one of their members are murdered prefer death penalty for murderer.
On the other hand, people who are against the capital punishment think that criminal persons could be modified in a positive way. Particularly, these days, some governments attempt to treat guilty persons by using psychologists. In addition, some occasions, a few crimes, such as murder may be committed unintentionally. Surely, it seems that death penalty would not be a fair punishment for these cases. Furthermore, these group of people hold this opinion that violent nature of capital punishment would lead to negative mental effects on society. To illustrate, in some countries, many news are heard about death penalties by TV or radio which could affects on the majority of audiences in a negative way.
In conclusion, I do not agree with the idea that capital punishment could decrease crime rates. I personally believe that governments should attempt to prevent occurrence of the crime. In this regard, public education could be helpful for the prevention.
