In the modern era, online shopping is somewhat controversial issue. There are those who say that the Internet shopping benefits outnumber its drawbacks, however other believe otherwise. This essay will examine the merits and shortcomings of buying through the Internet for each buyers and sellers and provide an overall opinion.
From an overall perspective, there are several advantages of online shopping. Perhaps the key advantage costumer can gain is that some goods can be bought from further afield instantly. For example, a person residing in Thailand can order online hi-tech clothes from a company in the UK. Unlike in the remote past when it took several weeks or even months to place an order with mail, a further point in great favour of this notion is that a company does not have to rent a expensive room, which means some buyers could order products at cheaper price due to mainly saving is being passed to costumer.
Despite these bona fide arguments, there is also a cogent case for the idea that the Internet purchasing has serious disadvantages. Probably, the most severe one is credit card fraud in which hacker intercepts online transaction. This could lead to inevitably losing real confidence in online shopping for costumer, with some avoiding online shopping at all. Another very severe disadvantage of this purchase is that some companies receive malware which is mistakenly perceived as customer emails. This may results in loss of money, which in turn, can bankrupt online commercial companies.
In conclusion, e-commerce is clearly relevant to modern digital society. I would have to say that costumers and sellers gain more advantages than disadvantages.
