Some think studying in a group is better while some think self-study is better for school students.

Explain both and give your opinion.

In modern times, self-study is a somewhat controversial issue, that is particularly relevant to modern society. There are those who believe that self study, which has its pros and cons for school students, is better than group study, which also provides its advantages and disadvantages for pupils; however, others think otherwise. I wholeheartedly believe that self-study is far better for people with little time than group study for several logically compelling reasons.

From an overall perspective, there are probably two primary advantages of group study. First, group study can encourage face-to-face heated debate, which in turn hones their social skills. Another key benefit is that some students can share some expensive materials with other students who might be from low-income families. In general, there are perhaps two serious disadvantages of group study. First, some student might get carried away with other students’ appalling behavior, which could lead to poor academic performance. Another major drawback is that some students are carefree and sleepy while some of them are very diligent, which could affect the way of imparting knowledge.

Generally speaking, there are two clear benefits of self study. First, students can study at their own time, which is particularly beneficial to student with some part-time or even full-time jobs. This is particularly important because in group study schedule must be arranged and fixed at a certain time and date. A further main advantage of self study is that learners can study anywhere. For example, some students can self-study mathematics in the train while school commuting.

In conclusion, I firmly believe that self study is greatly beneficial to students with jobs and without a lot of free time to excel in school and university’ subjects .
