Please check my essay, and give an opinion(i know is not very good)
I send this essay as anonymous, but as i am in a hurry i decide to try as register memeber thinking the posting will be faster.
This paper is about the controversy developed by the doubt of what type of education is better for the girls and boys, a coed one or a single-sex one, this controversy nurtured by the renewed interest in single-sex school has a lot of supporters in both sides, along this essay I am going to explain my opinion about it.
From my point of view the principal aspect of why choosing a coeducation school is that the kids, either girls or boys, that are in this system can gain more experience in their interacting and relationships skills whit members of the opposite sex, which is a very important part in their future, because in the actual world you must be very competitive and part of that competitiveness is that you must be able to relation with a lot of different people, so it would not be enough be just a smart person, But the main point of this issue is that although many people agree that boys blossom better in coed education there is still a doubt on what is better for girls, cause some studies say that girls get shortchanged in coed classrooms because teachers sometimes pay more attention to boys and that added to the fragile time that girls are passing when they begin adolescence can create a lose in the girls confidence, but if that were true the main point shouldn’t be about what type of school is better, instead it may be about what should be done to change the attitude of the professors to the girls, other study done by the American Association of University Women say that girls that study in single-sex classrooms had a raise on their self-esteem, after this report some schools began creating single-sex classrooms, but the truth is that this study haven’t been corroborated by their promoters.
The strongest supporters of the idea of a girl blossoming better in a single-sex education base their thoughts in the believe that girls need and all-female environment to take risks and find their own voices, but in the other side a public single-sex education can be a step back in equality, because we will be going back to the old days were the people were classified by their sex and raze.
So my conclusion is that as the text says “There is not such thing as separate but equal”, but at the same time if the girls truly get shortchanged by their teachers, the Americans have a really big problem to solve.
Even if the sex-education work better for some people, the idea of doing this separation on public schools can start another problem even bigger like is the sex discrimination, but a the end the final answer for this problem will recall in the parents of each kid in the US, because only them can make a decision as important as this is about their sons and daughters.
