Technology progress has become an integral part of our life. Our daily life is so filled with devices and appliances that it has become hard to imagine living without them. I think that technological advances can have a positive impact on our everyday routine. Yet, I also think there are slightly negative aspects with its overuse.

What I like most about technology is that it increases the efficiency in work. In industry repetitive and hard jobs had been done by people for a long time. Now, machines have replaced employees in the heaviest activities. To me, it would be useful to extend the use of machines to all those repetitive and alienating activities which are still carried on by people. This would allow to work less, have more free time and would lead people to dedicate to more satisfying activities. I think this would increase the quality of life significantly.

On the other hand, an overuse of technology can cause some “side effects”. Most of us are used to rely on the internet for street directions or for information of any kind. I know that according to scientists, this will lead us to gradually loose some of our brain capabilities, such as our long term memory.

In conclusion, I believe technological progress is fundamental to improve our future lives. At the same time, as the progress continues, we have to bear in mind the risks that its overuse can cause.
