It is true that these days, commuting times to work or school are generally longer than in the past. While this trend may be benefical by some people, I agree with those who consider its disadvantage outweigh the advantages.

On the one hand, commuting greater distances may benefit in some ways. In fact, extra time would enable passengers to do their uncompleted tasks. For instance, an employee could use 30 minutes of additional time on a bus or a train to revise their yesterday's report . As a result, he could allocate more time for personal purposes in their evenings. Moreover, one might read a book or listen to music just to relax a bit before starting to work.

On the other hand, the disavantages of travelling long distances are overwhelming. Firstly, many of my classmates, for example, tell me about their worries about being late for lectures. This can be explained by the fact that they might face with rush hour traffic jams which is a stressful situation causing daily anxiety. Secondly, commuters have to wake up early to drive in time. Consequently, instead of enjoying free time during late hours, people might fall asleep and become too exhausted to enjoy their work later.

In conclusion, although it argue that long commuting is an opportunity to finish uncompleted tasks, Iam still in favor of the opinion that this trend bring a negative development which might create stress and exhaustion.
