6. In the world of the internet, people write product reviews of products and services. Do you
think this is a positive or negative development?

Essay:

In the world of the internet, there has been a great trend in the e-commerce sector; increasingly there are a lot of commercial websites and applications that are selling goods and services online. They enable customers to explore different types of products and pay for them smoothly. Furthermore, after the sale process is over, clients get the opportunity to type their reviews of the products and services that were served. Many think of it as a positive development. I totally agree for several reasons.

Firstly, product reviews enhance authenticity by giving great help to other customers in making a decision on whether to buy a certain item. They provide them with further information about the product they are looking to buy. For instance, if you want to buy an item from Amazon and you were puzzled about what to choose between many options. Reading the reviews and opinions of the previous buyers will help you decide what meets your needs because those comments provide more details about the product.


Secondly, it increases customer satisfaction which generates what is called in marketing "loyal customers". As we know, people differ in their opinions, so their feedback will vary between negative and positive comments; it is very likely to find criticism as well as the praise on the service provided. When a customer orders an item and finds out that the product they order every time is compatible with what is mentioned on the website, they will keep buying from the same seller until they become "loyal customers". Thus, the seller will make more earnings.


In conclusion, reviews of the products and services have a positive impact on both, the customers and sellers. As for the customers, it helps them to decide what to buy and increases their satisfaction. As for the sellers, it enhances the authenticity of their websites which create "loyal customers".
