Riyadh is the capital city of Saudi Arabia. It has become one of the most attractive city in the Kingdom. There are many aspects in the city have changed over the 20 years. The aim of this essay is to illustrate the development in Riyadh in terms of population, education and architecture.
Despite the fact that the weather in Riyadh tend to be in a bad condition most seasons, the population has grown significantly over the past 20 years. In 1992 the population of the city was approximately 2 million based on the Annual Demographic Statistics. This figure increased to about 3 million in 1999. Since that year, there has been a sharply rise in population to the current level of 5,2 million. This increasing may reflect the flourishing in job opportunities in the city.
With regard to the education field, the number of public schools were approximately …. In 1990, and there was two universities. From that year, the number of schools and universities has raised to ….. respectively.
The third aspect has changed over the last two decades is the architecture of the city. The design of the government and private building has changed from traditional to modern western building as a direct result of the global economic investments. Recently, the architecture companies have used light Wight concrete to build houses instead of using reinforced concrete. Although, one of the changes that have happened from this point of view that the city lately has two skyscrapers.
In conclusion, because of the economic enhancement in Riyadh, there have been a significant changes in population, education and the design of the city. Moreover, the changes are taking place currently for the same reason.
