Hello. Can you check my speaking theme about juvenile delinquency? The theme is: The news programmes very often talk about teenage crime these days. Give examples of juvenile delinquency and try answer the question why young people commit such crimes.
Juvenile delinquency is a huge problem in our society. There are various crimes from shoplifting to really serious like murdery. I am going to introduce you with some of teenage crimes and try to answer the question why young people commit such crimes.
One of the most common crime among youth is reckless driving. According to research almost 91 percent of young people from 16 to 19 years old tolerate the breaches of traffic. That shows the fact that teenagers don't understand what damage could be done for themselves and innocent people. According to police officers records the reckless driving is the main reason which cause the accidents in the roads. The reason for commiting such crime is a thought that you can control everything in your life and it doesn't matter if it is against the law. Also a fine for reckless driving is quite small, aproximately from 50 to 100 Lt if the speed limit is exceeded from 20 to 30 km/h Young people often want to look cool and fit into their peers group, in other words, peer presure is really enormous and leads to wrong and dangerous acts. However, peers influence is not the one factor which leads to commiting a crime. Well-known people and celebrities also make a huge influence on teenagers. They buy brand clothes, wear nice shoes, even try to speak and act like their leaders. So they take to drink or drug take. It's common among celebrities drink and drive. I can mention here Britney Spears and Mel Gibson. Lindsay Lohan took drugs and drove and she was even sent to prison for a month or longer. I can bet many young people think that it's cool. However I can't understand what is great in being in the jail. I agree with a thought which means that your friends show who you are. If you meet intelligent, ambitious people, you will besome similar to them. On the other hand if you meet bad people, you will also become like them and you will start doing things which people don't do normally.
