Please check my Cover letter/motivation Letter for PhD Position
I am writing to express my great interest in applying for the PhD program in the development studies and the politics of sustainability of Institute in Berlin. I studied processing technology of agricultural products, from 2000-2004, at the Urgench State University named after Al-Khorezmi in Urgench city, Uzbekistan, where I obtained a bachelor's degree with Honours. During my studies, I was always a curious and research-active student because I knew that to pursue a scientific career, one most begin early. I did research in various areas, one of which was recycling of wastes. This allowed me to participate in a project at the Tropical Parasitology and Microbiology Research Center, where we focused on the application of the PCR technique in the detection of infective forms of Toxoplasma gondii in pork for human consumption. After obtaining my bachelor’s degree, I have applied for master’s program in Sustainable technology of Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden. I have won scholarship of Swedish Institute for my master’s studies. During this master’s program I have obtained a lot of useful knowledge on sustainability, waste recycling, life cycle assessment, risk management and environmental management. Also I have been chosen for participating as an attendance in Nobel Prize Ceremony 2004 by Swedish Institute. After finishing my studies, I worked as a head of department on working with gifted students and international relation. During this time, I obtained managerial skills. Also I worked for a while as a young researcher at the Urgench State University, Uzbekistan. In 2007 I have applied to Management Systems Co-ordinator position in Urgench Branch of Coca-Cola Ichimligi Uzbekistan Ltd. During this working period, I learned a lot about myself and about working with people in different disciplines. In May 2008 I was hired by Malaysian upstream oil and gas company Petronas Carigali Urga Operating Company as an environment executive. By working in environmental management sphere, I learnt a lot and gained experience on host country and international laws on nature protection. I also strengthened my conviction to be a scientist in Sustainable Devlopment sphere. For that reason, I came to Germany to learn state-of-the-art techniques from highly qualified scientists and to have the experience of studying abroad. Currently, I am studying Sciences at the University of ER; complementary to my subjects, I have attended lectures and practical courses such as biochemistry, immunology, virology, human genetics and signal transduction. Your preparatory program is one of the few that offers me the opportunity to obtain a PhD degree without having a prior master's degree. I am intellectually prepared to participate in this program, and I am eager to learn, to contribute and to have my knowledge complemented by that of recognized scientists from different disciplines, who collaborate in this program. Your program offers an exciting interdisciplinary scenario, in which I will have the opportunity to pursue my area of interest as a scientist: to understand the interplay between pathogens and hosts, to elucidate the molecular mechanisms of their interaction and its (?) influence in the host signalling (host-signalling?) pathways. I would be grateful for your consideration of my candidacy for this PhD program. I enclose a curriculum vitae and a reference from the Dean of the Mainz University Medical School. Please contact me if you require any further details or documents (e.g. certificates for courses I passed). I hope to hear from you in the near future. Yours faithfully,
