Topic: In some countries young people are encouraged to work or travel for a year between finishing high school and starting university studies. Discuss the advantages and disadvantages for young people who decide to do this.

There is a considerable increase in the decisions of taking a gap year before beginning university's life among the youth. This recent trend has numerous benefits and a few drawbacks.

First and foremost, one merit of taking a year off is that youngsters will have an opportunity to find out their career interests. More specifically, by living at the fullest condition, young people will have a long time to work and exprience, which would arise their job passion that makes them more effortless to decide which jobs to pursue. Second, taking a gap year also gives the youth chances to learn and develop practical skills. By working or travelling for a year, young adults will meet new friends, experience different cultures and have more daily problems to solve. As a result, they will acquire many helpful and practical lessons, which will develop their skills as well as their maturity.

On the other hand, it is clear that young people who decide to take a gap year still have some demerits. One demerit of this is that it can be a distraction from further studies. To explain this, youngsters would find the life so relaxing and enjoyable without obligatory that make them want to avoid higher studies. Also, they could be adore working to earn money, which leads to their refuse to go back universities. Another drawback of this trend is that one year taken would be a waste of time or even a risk. It is due to youngsters' lack of money, experiences that they no longer find themselves excited to be challenged or work.

In conclusion, the break of a year taken helps young people to discover their career interests as well as to learn and develop in a great way.
