Please, check my business letter
I have received this letter:
"Dear Mr. XY
we met briefly at Florence Mess. Our activity is selling...The concept of your product is of interest to us and we may be interested to sell these units in the U.K. Please advise us if you would be interested in discussions with us about UK distribution.
Regards
W.Z."
Here is my reply:
"Dear Sir,
We haven’t signed any contract yet for the distribution of our product in market and we may be very interested in your proposal.
In the meantime, we propose to start our business relations by selling you some units: in this way you could have the possibility to test our product and introduce it to your customers and prospects.
After that we could start trade talks about trade area and quantities.
We look forward to hearing from you

It's common to start a business letter with some courtesies, like "Thank you for your interest in our product" or something like that. To jump in with "We don't have a contract with anyone else" is too abrupt.
