Dear ManagerI would like to take one month off work in May of next year. I plan to visit my aged father who has not been very well. I have three weeks leave for the year 2013 and I would like to apply for one week unpaid leave. I have not seen my father and siblings for over two years. I hope you will approve my leave and my  application for one week unpaid leave. I hope to book my air ticket by end of January 2013. Thank you.

I am applying to take a months absence from work in May 2013. I have planned to visit my father and siblings who I have not seen for over two years. This matter has come up due to a decline in my father's health. I currently have three weeks of leave and would like to apply for a further week as unpaid leave. Please consider my leave application, as I intend to book my flight by end of January 2013.
