Do you perhaps mean something like this? The quantities of COD, ammoniac and Nitrate in the surface water of the Day river,t he Nhue river and the Chau Giang river have exceeded the TCVN 5942-1995 standard.

In the Nhat Tuu drain (Nhue river ), the COD indicator has increased from 16.4mg/l in 2000 to 33.54mg/l in 2004, which is an increase of 200%. The ammoniac indicator in these rivers has increased from 0.68mg/l in 2000 to 4.71mg/l in 2005, which is an increase of 700%.

Those rivers must receive industrial, hospital and sewer waste, all unprocessed, from Ha Noi, the capital of Ha Tay province. In the dry season, the surface water becomes black and smelly. This heavy waste . verb. . . ???? for 30 days. In the Nhue river, there was more heavy waste in 2005 than in 2004. The concentrations of COD and Amoniac in 2005 were higher than the previous year. They increased from 19.7mg/l to 19.33mg/l. <<<< This looks like a decrease to me.

People ‘s life.

Water supply of the Nhue river, the Day river and the Chau Giang river infected that effects to 6 areas of province. There are 42.100 ha is effected by rivers infected around 49,54% of total square province. There are 82 villages infeceted around 58,52% of total province. On days, rivers is hard infected,the water supply is very privation, every activities are stagnations.

According to Clearn Water Central data and UNICEF, the analyses result of 7000 instance waters from well in province have nearly 51% is infected Arsenic.

The health

According to the statistics of the health, from 2000 to 2003, the rate patient has increased strong. The cancer has rapidly raise in period 2002-2003. According to the statistics of medical,in Hoa Hau, Vinh Tru and Bo De village, the asen content in the hair and urine very highly, it is around 42% of total people which exceeded the WHO standard.

The Socio-economic.

Aquatic product: the water infected which is effected on farmer live by rearing aquatic product. Every year, the in coming of farmers is lost about 560 million VND. Example, in November 2003,farmer rearing aquatic in the Nhue river and the Day river had lost 1.535.400.000 VND. They have facing many difficult in their life.
