The two pie charts in two different years distribute young Canadians into six groups according to the popular way in which they used to watch television. The charts showed the proportion of people who go to for either a mobile phone, laptop, tablet, desktop computer, flat-screen TV or conventional TV.
Overall, after a decade, young Canadians prefer using modern devices such as mobile phones, tablets, and flat-screen TV than the older ones.
In detail, in 2009, conventional TV and laptop are preference appliances of Canadians in the age from 18 to 20, with 34% from conventional TV, 20% from laptops. However, in 2019, these devices are the least-used with the total being 16% which was four times lower than that of 2009. The reverse was true for tablets and a flat-screen TV. There were only 13% of people using table and flat-screen TV in 2009. Nevertheless, in 2019, people showed a stronger preference with nearly half of young Canadians (46%). After ten years, the mobile phone also was a prevalent device with the percentage of users increased from 15% to 26%.
