As populations grow and cities become more crowded; there is pressure throughout the world to construct ever taller buildings to provide accommodation and offices. Many people object to such developments, citing the social as well as physical dangers.
Discuss both sides and give your own opinion.
Here is my answer:
Firstly, if ever taller buildings were constructed, it will have a negative impact on the quality of lives. For example, roads will be miniature for buildings' space. As a result, traffic congestion is more and more severely increasing, and then, stress, sleep deprivation happend because of noise pollution. It also makes accidents take place with higher rate due to too many means of transport on narrow roads. Furthermore, people have to face with many health-related problems as well, because these skyscrapers will prevent people from getting clean air and natural light. All of them play a role in being walls for people not being exposed to nature. In addition, urban dwellers' privacy seems to be lowered as much as possible because they have so many neighbors
Secondly, the proportion of crimes will be more severe if those buildings are built. Cities are an ideal shelter for notorious criminals and social evils. They can hide in any floor, any building, the emerge into lines of people and live easily without being detected. More crowded, more worst things can happend. Thus, I strongly disagree with the view that ever taller buildings have to be constructed.
Lastly, it is very dangerous if any accident happens in a tall building. For example, if a fire breaks out at the top of the tower, it will pose a threat on many lower floors. A one-floor fire can make the whole buildings of ten floors become burnt to ashes in a short moment.
