At that point in time the economy was souring high and the ambition of Americans was skyrocketing. They indeed brought more than what they earned, it led to trade deficit. But foreign reserves of developing countries like India, China started overflowing which helped their GDP move upwards. Once Federal Government tighten the housing loan interest rates, American buying trend reversed and now the stock markets across the globe is feeling the heat.
