Sir,

This is my response to the citation given to me for being late for 4 minutes last July 28, 2010.

I have this long time problem with the nanny of my kids. She always doesn’t show up the week after she got her salary. That week, she only came on Wednesday night, around 19:45 to 19:50. I usually leave my kids to my mom’s house whenever the nanny’s not around since her house is just in the same compound, but my mom was in my Aunt’s house that night. I pleaded for her to go to work that night and she did came, however, it was already late.

I tried to call XXXXX Workforce numerous times but no one is picking up the line. The ring always ends to a voicemail which, to make the matter worse, was already full. I tried to call for more or less 5 times but to no avail. My team mates said they heard the phone ring several times before 20:00, which is also the time that I was calling.

I lost my phone a week before the incident so I was not able to bring a phone with me. I arrived at exactly 21:04, then I asked for e-time but was not granted saying it’s already beyond my shift start time.

I did not intend to be late that day. I’ve been trying my best so as not to incur any occurrence again. However, things do happen unexpectedly. Even though I know that my stay here in XXX is hanging on a thread, I still strive to be my best at work. And I’m proud to say that I’m performing well. I really want to stay and I want to prove that there’s more to me being a working-single-mom, and that there’s more to see beyond all the imperfections brought about by me taking three roles; the homemaker, the provider and the employee. I want to prove that I’m an asset to the company.

I’m hoping that with benevolence, you will consider this matter and still keep me in the company. And if this happen again, I will accept the fact that I would have to leave the company. Never the less, I will make sure that this won’t happen again.

Sincerely,
