Mama was the one who took me to school and picked me up from school

Mama was the one to pick me up when I fall or get lost

Mama was the one that made me food when I get hungry

And the coffee she used to make me every morning.

She was the one that rocked me to sleep and hum to me.

Mama was always the one to make laugh and smile with her silly dancing.

When Mama was tired or upset, she will still love me. She never treated me wrong

She was always having my back when my mother starts yelling at me.

And the stories she would tell me while we walk through our favorite park.

We will always get flowers to put in a vase.

But things started changing, she didn’t walk as much

She wasn’t acting the same, her hair started falling out. She looked sick.

Then my mother told me, I was confused. The women who was always happy and always dancing

Is dying of cancer. Why! Did this disheartening monster choose her?

What did She do to earn this?

she is the sweetest person you will ever meet; she will always make me smile.

And this is what you want! A magnificent woman who would hold your hand when you need her

Is fading, slowly and all we could do is watch. While nurses are taking care of her.

We can’t do anything; all we could do is hope. It hurts me every day.

That the person that I felt loved from is dying in front of my eyes, and all I could do is watch.

My great Grandma, the woman I call mama will always have a place in my heart.
