It is commonly believed that having days when using transports is not allowed as a worldwide event is the optimal way to reduce the effect of environmental.While this may work to a certain extent, I would argue that there exist a number of viable methods to ameliorate the poor status of environment.
It is understandable why some people advocate the idea that instead of commuting to workplace by their own vehicles,individuals have to leave their cars at home and adapt for another kinds of transportation.To begin with,a recent surge in the private car ownership has driven the air pollution level to alarming threshold.The implication of this is that the air quality has deteriorated and residents in cities are more likely to contract respiratory diseases such as lung cancer,asthma.With this policy conducted,travelling in urban areas worldwide would rely on public transports,walking or cycling on certain days which would have tremendous effect on improving the air quality.Another reason for this is that the more traffic vehicles people use,the higher the energy sources are consumed and burned every single day which may discharge a great amount of greenhouse emission to the air.Therefore,if this policy takes effect,it can limit the burning of these energy resources,particularly fuel vehicles such as cars,motorbikes
In lieu of the aforementioned measures,there also exist a certain steps that governments should adopt.One of these is the state should encourage citizens to change their daily commute by using public transports.For example,my father has done away with travelling to work by his own motorbike and using subway as an alternative.In addition,more resources should be focused on educating the public on their responsibilities to the environment.For instance,they must understand overcrowded landfills and industrial waste are now degrading air quality as well as the way how people can recycle and use materials which are more eco-friendly,especially for packaging.
In conclusion,I believe besides car prohibiting days,the described solution would also yield good results in the reduction of air pollution.
