Please check and correct my letter

Subject: Request for annual vacation



Dear Sir,



This is to request my Annual vacation from 12.08.2006 to 13.09.2006 for the year 2005-06 which has been due since . I would like to avail the annual vacation and visit my home town kerala, on , and would be grateful if you could arrange for me to have my passport and other settlements by the 9th of August, and request your kind approval for the same

(Hi - I dont quite understand what you mean by the due since date, and also not sure what other settlements are but have just tidied up the rest for you. Does your employer really hold your passport? 06.
