With the increase of the level of modern civilization, a growing number of families are opting for single child. The advantages are obvious: the only child will be better fed, better clad, and better educated. Nevertheless, there seems to be a hindrance: will the only child be lonely? The answer is: Not if the child has a loving family and a good circle of friends.First, sufficient parental attention can make for child’s happiness. Needless to say, even in a multi-child family, a child may be lonely because he/she has to compete for attention, love or resources. As often as not, however, single children tend to be centre of attention of parents, Second, peer contact is another contributing factor that makes for happiness. Admittedly, an only child is lacking in the company of siblings. However, parents have enough energy and resources to involve their child in various social activities or, as an alternative, welcome his/her friends to your home. As we know, the modern world has opened many avenues for children, so an only child doesn't feel the lack of a sibling if kept busy.In short, just because there is one child in the household does not necessarily mean he/she is lonely.
