Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing this letter to apply for the most suitable position for me in your research department. I have had the pleasure to read and hear about your research department from http://www.ruhr-uni-bochum.de/ and Silviana (a PhD student from Bochum University and she was my lecturer). Furthermore, I am very enthusiastic about the research activity in your department.
Currently, I have just graduated from HAN University of Applied Science, Master in Control Systems Engineering. In this study I did a master research about "Model Development of an Output Quality Predictor for Synthetic Polymer using Least Square Support Vector Machines (LSSVM). The objective of this topic is to predict the output quality by developing the model of the process plant. This is an interdisciplinary approach between chemical engineering and control system engineering. In this research I covered the theoretical background of the method and its implementations. In addition, model development was implemented using Matlab & Simulink, Simca-P.12 and LSSVMlab software package. In the past, I have received a bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering. At this stage, I developed a preliminary design of an Ethylene Oxide plant with the Celanese process for a capacity of 80.000 tons/year. I succeed showing the Celanese process is suitable to produce Ethylene Oxide with 80% reaction conversion. Moreover, the designed plant had a 4 years Payback Time. I also would like to welcome you to see my CV to get more information about me. Furthermore, I am committed to my profession, like hard work, consistency, commitment and also enjoy challenges. Likewise, I would like to strive for continued excellence and have the ambition to provide exceptional contributions in the area of research. Moreover, I am enthusiastic to apply the combination of control systems engineering and chemical engineering in the area of research. Therefore, a position in your research group would be the ideal topic of interest to put my ambition in to practice.
