A: I called him at 8pm to his house phone because I thought at 6pm(two hours earlier) that he would have got home by then from the office.

b: I called him at 8pm to his house phone because I thought at 6pm(two hours earlier) that he would be home by then from the office.


I have got two questions.

1: Are both sentences correct?

2: What’s the difference in meaning between sentences?
