Please can someone confirm or correct?

Dear all,

please, I need you help ! I am not sure I wrote the following sentences correctly:

"As already mentioned in the mail below, we would have needed a confirmation with a good advance of time to be able to work this project out"

In this sentence I doubt the expression: "with a good advance of time" does it work? if not, please give an alternative.

"Maison + Objet 2012 is too much close to be able to get other customers and build your stand."

Here I doubt the expression "too much close".

"We should have had talked about the project in time, now it is too late"

In this last sentence I fear I did not write correctly the type of tense.

Thank you in advance for your help!

  • if not, please give an alternative.
  • I'd use "well in advance" or "much earlier".
  • It may also be appropriate to write how much time is needed.

Dear Vorpar,

thank you so much.

It is all very clear, just one thing:

"We should have had talked" is wrong?

Thanks

Yes, that sentence is wrong. The helping verb "have" is used twice. "Have had" is only used when "had" isn't a helping verb; it's being used as its other definitions (to own, to hold, etc.)

thanks. It is much clearer now.
