People across the world usually say to their children that nothing is impossible if they keep on trying. This piece of advice may have several benefits such as motivation and self-assessment. This, however, may leads to sever repercussion on children's psychological health.
To begin with, there are some merits of the statement about trying again and again. On the top of which is Motivation, people may give up when they are unable to secure what they have tried due to fear of failure. Another advantage of this is self-evaluation, pushing limits may unleash one's abilities from which they might be unaware. In other words, children will be able to know more about themselves when they succeed in something which they never imaged to be capable of. For Instance, my parents always told me the story of the KFC's owner that how he failed frequently but at last he managed to acquire his place in the world of food business. This story motivated and enabled me to secure PHD scholarship after numerous occasions of failure.
On the other hand, this may build a huge pressure on children which may impact their psychological well-being. To put in another way, children might suffer from depression if they would not be able to achieve their goals after a considerable amount of effort. A good illustration of this is that many students in India commit suicide due to poor grades despite on continuous hard work. ?
In conclusion, suggestion of being consistent may encourage and help them to unfold their hidden skills and talents. ?On the contrary, too much consistency may cause adverse impacts on their mental health. I highly recommend, to avoid this problem a best possible solution is to know when to stop.
