Please be so kind as to correct?

I would like to know how you would say the following sentences and if there is anything that might need to be changed?

1 I was happy about getting the job, but as the week passed by I became less and less happy as I started to read up on the company and came across things I didn't like.

2 I never thought my teacher would stoop as low as to give me harder things to do in class to get back at me for being rude to her.

Thanks
