Hello...
I need to know if this is correct;
If I can say; "He is breaking for lunch but should be back in an hour", is it also proper for me to say, "Alex has broken for lunch"?
Please assist. This has been bugging me for a while now.
Thanks in advance.
Yes. But I much more often hear eg He has gone for lunch.

No, that is not good.
He is taking a lunch break, ...
He is on his lunch break, ...
He has gone (out) to lunch, ...
mpaulposh "Alex has broken for lunch"?
That is worse.
