Some employers reward members of staff for their exceptional contribution to the company by giving them extra money. This practice can act as an incentivefor some but may have a negative impact on others.

To what extent is this style of management effective?
Are there better ways of encouraging employees to work hard?

In the recent years one of the most controversial issues relates to rewarding employees for their merits and efforts by premium to their wage. When discussing this issue it is important to point out that people have strong view for and against this promotion .I consider it is debatable whether salary increment can create a stimulus for workers or may be emulation among the staff. This essay will examine this question carefully.

On one side of the argument there are people who argue that the benefits of promotion of employees considerably outweigh its disadvantages. The main reason for believing this is that it can be worthwhile for the company. Were rivalry among employees is created, efficiency of work jumps significantly.

On the other hand, it is also feasible to make the opposing case. It is often argued that in fact, as a result of emulation tension among staff is escalated. I tend to think that friendly atmosphere in company it is one of the main factors of success.

As we have seen, there is no easy answer to this question. On balance, however, authority should count that there are many another ways of rewarding, not only increments in salary, such as cooperative outdoor recreation or all the staff for the fruitful work. In my personal view this type of rewarding members of staff will substantially affect workers in correct way, thus volume of production or capacity of work can be improved. In addition, this type of promotion will eliminate tension among employees.
