Please are these sentences OK

I haven't been drinking milk for 1 year, since I found out I am allergic to it. I had been drinking it since I was a child though, so it was quite difficult to find a replacement.

Misko Piskosince I found out I am allergic to it.
Also, if you want something that sounds a little more like a medical diagnosis,

since I found (out) that I am lactose intolerant.
